Microsoft is preparing to unveil the next version of its Windows Phone operating system, but the Redmond-based company is also working on expanding the features of some of its mobile applications.

Xbox One SmartGlass for Windows Phone, the companion application for Xbox One consoles, has just received an important update that brings important features to users.

Beware though that some users complain that after the update, their Xbox One SmartGlass application loads extremely slow. Hopefully, this is not a widespread issue.

Anyway, according to Microsoft, the latest update for Xbox One SmartGlass for Windows Phone adds a dedicated hub for clips that users create with Game DVR.

In addition, users will now be automatically notified when they receive new messages. The activity feed in Friends section has been redesigned to offer a fresh look.

Developers also claim that with the newest version of Xbox One SmartGlass, users will be able to see who is online and what they are playing much easier.

The update also brings the option to close snapped apps on Xbox One and improves help for Xbox One connection problems.

You can now download Xbox One SmartGlass for Windows Phone 1.0.3.2 for free via Windows Phone Store. The application is only compatible with devices powered by Windows Phone 8 and up.
