It's unclear whether the move is only designed for Europe

It seems that the team at Microsoft in charge of the Xbox One might be getting ready to cut the official price of the device to 349.99 Euro, the equivalent of 469 dollars, according to a leaked piece of information from the official mobile application of the store.

The change was quickly eradicated, but an image that shows the new price was captured by one user on NeoGAF. Unfortunately, there is no information on when the cut might be implemented or whether it is only planned for a number of markets in Europe or for the entire continent.

At the moment, the Xbox One sells for 399 Euro and for the same amount in dollars, and the reduction might also be offered on the North American market.

Microsoft has not commented on the leak coming from its official store, which in itself might be a sign that the company is getting ready for an announcement soon.

At the same time, the new price might be just a mistake from an employee and the hardware maker might make an official statement about it soon.

Microsoft is getting ready to launch its next-gen console on a number of secondary markets in September, and the company has promised that it will have both exclusive content and reduced prices for video games in order to attract buyers.

Moreover, the Xbox One will arrive in late August on the Chinese market via a partnership with a Shanghai company, and there are also plans to deliver the platform as part of the broadband subscription for those who work with China Telecom.

A price cut for the device makes sense if Microsoft wants to catch up to the rival PlayStation 4 from Sony in terms of worldwide sales.

In early June, the company took down the price to 399 dollars or Euro and eliminated the Kinect motion tracking system from the core retail package.

Unfortunately, the move has not led to much bigger sales and the gap between the next-gen devices has been widening, according to reports.

Unconfirmed reports are saying that the PlayStation 4 has managed to deliver more than 9 million devices to gamers since it was launched in November of last year, while the Xbox One has only managed to deliver close to 6.5 million units to stores.

During recent months, the Wii U has also shown signs that it might be on an upward trend as long as Nintendo can deliver big game releases.
