Microsoft has confirmed that the party chat system on the Xbox One next-gen console will retain the eight-user limit seen on the Xbox 360.

The Xbox One is set to debut next month and it should bring not just better hardware, but also plenty of new features to existing services such as the Xbox Live online one.

After detailing the special Friends application that will be available on the next-gen console, Microsoft has now confirmed that the party chat system will be practically the same as on the Xbox 360, meaning only eight users can interact at once.

The company has confirmed this to GameInformer and hasn’t mentioned why the limit couldn't be raised, given that other things, such as the maximum number of friends a user can have, have increased.
