A brand new report has appeared online, claiming that the Xbox One next-gen console will launch in China in September 2014, at least according to a statement from the CEO of a large Asian streaming company.

China had had a ban on video game consoles since 2000, but a recent document approved by the country's government has lifted this restriction, although some limitations are still present.

Now, a brand new report has appeared, claiming that the Xbox One will be the first console to officially release in China.

The claim was made by Luo Jiangchun, the CEO of online video and streaming service Funshion, during an investors meeting, via SohuIT.

Funshion is owned by China's BesTV, the same company that signed a partnership with Microsoft earlier this year, so Jiangchun's statement might be based on insider knowledge.

As of yet, however, Microsoft hasn't made a statement about the report.
