Microsoft is apparently looking to introduce a brand new feature to Xbox Live Gold subscribers, offering them temporary access to select Xbox One games for free.

The information comes from a pair of images taken by some Xbox One users, showing that the Redmond-based corporation intends to bring the "Free Play Day With Gold" program offering to its fans.

The name of the feature suggests that Microsoft is planning to allow Xbox One gamers to gain 24-hour free access to the supported games, in a manner that is similar to Steam's Free Weekends program.

The images show that Max: The Curse of Brotherhood will be available to play for free under the new program, alongside Games with Gold titles Strike Suit Zero and Crimson Dragon.

In addition to the images, a tweet from Xbox Support also suggests that the company is planning to announce the feature shortly.

It looks like Microsoft is attempting to outdo its main rival, Sony, by allowing owners of the Xbox One computer entertainment system much more options when it comes to gaming on the platform, as well as a better offer when compared to the PlayStation Plus subscription program.
