The Xbox One will be released in December, at least according to one Microsoft employee who mentioned that fans would get their hands on the next-gen device in "seven months."

Microsoft revealed the Xbox One last week and, since then, quite a few details have appeared, including a late 2013 release date for the next-gen console.

Now, as part of a special video demonstration made for website Wired, Microsoft Principal Development Manager of Live TV, Ashley Speicher, mentioned that the company is working hard on the console and that, when it's going to be released in seven months, customers won't even recognize it.

The statement was made right after the console's reveal last week, during the month of May, which means a December launch for the new device.

Previous consoles, including the Xbox 360, were released at the end of November, so that they could capture the holiday shopping spree marked by Black Friday in North America.
