The team in charge of the Xbox One at Microsoft says that it is planning to deliver cheaper versions of all the launch titles for the next-gen console on the secondary markets where the device is expected to arrive in September, including Japan.

Andre Cardos, an executive in charge of the launch process, tells Gamereactor.eu that, “The previous Xbox One exclusives will be available at launch at a cheaper price. For now we can only confirm our own games, we're still waiting on third party games to create a backcatalog.”

It seems that one of the titles from other publishers that will be offered with a lower price will be Assassin’s Creed IV from Ubisoft, but the company is not yet willing to talk about actual prices.

Cardos adds, “We expect to launch the GOTY editions for our own games, like Forza 5 Motorsport and Ryse: Son of Rome, at a cheaper price. We're still figuring out the exact price.”

17 markets will get official access to the Xbox One in September and Microsoft says that it is working to also add special content for some of them, including Japan.

The PlayStation 4 from Sony has been offered in all these countries since earlier in the year and has generated solid sales.

This has helped the platform build up a serious lead over the Xbox One, which is estimated to be between 2 and 3 million units on a worldwide level.

Microsoft has reacted to this increasing gap by dropping the price of its own device to 399 dollars or Euro and by eliminating the Kinect motion tracking system from the core retail package.

Analysts are expecting to see if these moves affect overall sales when the NPD Group releases its hardware chart for June in about two weeks.

Microsoft has also been delivering monthly firmware updates for the Xbox One in order to add new features and improve already existing ones and the company has recently launched a wide array of television style shows, ranging from drama and comedy to documentaries and reality shows.

In 2015, the company says that the Xbox One will also get access to Halo 5: Guardians, which is the sort of video game experience that can significantly drive up hardware sales.

At the same time, Steven Spielberg and Ridley Scott are working on two movies linked to the franchise, which are also expected to arrive early next year.
