The Xbox One launch day system update that's set to allow the console to actually play games or apps is already available for download and weighs in at 500MB, according to someone who got his hands on a retail version of the console ahead of its release.

The Xbox One is set to debut on November 22 in 13 countries around the world.

However, due to an error with U.S. retailer Target, a few customers have already received their next-gen consoles, including Twitter user MoonlightSwami.

He has since set up the console and has already downloaded the day one system update for the device, which apparently weighs in at 500MB.

As such, he is now able to view entertainment applications and play games.

As of yet, Microsoft hasn't commented on the early consoles or on the day one dashboard update.
