Avalanche Studios is quite confident in the gaming credentials of the new console

Avalanche Studios, the developer of the Just Cause series, has confirmed that even if Microsoft flaunted the Xbox One's entertainment capabilities last month, the next-gen console is still a gaming platform and will see the reveal of many titles at E3 2013 this month.

The Xbox One presentation back in May was marked by a significant lack of games, as Microsoft opted to focus more on highlighting the console's entertainment features, and less on titles, showing off just a handful of games.

Avalanche's Christofer Sundberg believes that Microsoft focused on entertainment in order to attract mainstream media.

"Microsoft has said that it wants to make the Xbox One an entertainment center. If it was dubbed the ultimate gaming machine at this point, Microsoft would lose the attention of general media," he told Edge.

"This way, they are grabbing mainstream attention first and can focus entirely on gamers at E3. After that they’ll have both in their grasp. The Xbox is and has always been a gaming platform, and I don’t see that changing with the Xbox One."

Microsoft has already promised that it is going to focus on Xbox One games at E3 2013.
