Microsoft has revealed that Yacht Club Games' highly praised retro platformer Shovel Knight is headed to the Xbox One sometime soon, in addition to a slew of other indie video games.

The information was revealed during the Game Developers Conference in San Franciso, where the corporation published an extensive list of upcoming video games.

The titles will make their debut on the Xbox One platform soon, through the ID@Xbox program, which enables independent video game developers to self-publish their creations.

Microsoft's list includes a bunch of games we already knew about, such as Hi-Rez Studios' multiplayer online battle arena game, Smite, and Mighty No. 9 and Goat Simulator, but also features a ton of new games.

Some of the games on the list are Bedlam, Beyond Eyes, ClusterPuck 99, Cuphead, Earthlock: Festival of Magic, The Flame in the Flood, Fortified, Game 4, LA Cops, Magic Duels: Origins, Pixel Galaxy, RBI Baseball 15, Rivals of Aether, Shadow Blade: Reload, Submerged, Super Dungeon Bros, Swordy, The Sun and Moon, and Zheros.

The game were featured at GDC and you can head over to the official Xbox YouTube page to see trailers and gameplay from all of them.

A lot of new games are coming to the Xbox One soon

Microsoft also outlined some of the other amazing games that are currently headed to the Xbox One platform, including Quest of Dungeons, Starpoint Gemini 2, Luna's Tale: The Curse of the Forgotten Doll, Standpoint, Raging Justice, Paranautical Activity, Hyperdrive Massacre, and inXile Entertainment's Wasteland 2.

The eight-generation consoles are seeing quite a lot of activity, with both Microsoft and Sony doing their best to provide compelling platform exclusive experiences, as well as to draw a diverse array of indie developers, in order to expand each console's games library and offer gamers who don't live and die by AAA titles plenty of indie alternatives.

For the time being, Sony is on top when it comes to console sales, but Microsoft is definitely working on catching up.
