A teardown analysis of the next-gen console shows some surprising results

A brand new teardown of the Xbox One next-gen console confirms that the console's hard drive is a standard 2.5-inch disc, which can be replaced rather easily, although doing so voids the warranty offered by Microsoft.

The PS4, just like its previous iteration, the PS3, allows users to easily replace the console's hard drive so that they can get more games for their device.

The Xbox One, however, won't allow owners to replace the hard drive with a bigger one, although they can use external storage options.

A teardown analysis from iFixit, however, shows that a hard drive upgrade can be performed rather easily, although it requires the dismantling of the Wi-Fi module and system speaker.

What's more, opening the console up voids the warranty offered by Microsoft, so bear that in mind when trying to upgrade anything about the console.
