The GPU reserve will be lowered by Microsoft in the future

Microsoft is apparently getting ready to unlock more of the Xbox One GPU power for game developers, as, according to a new report, it will reduce the reserve power that it usually keeps off limits for regular games.

The Xbox One has been suffering in terms of graphical features as opposed to the PS4, as games for Microsoft's platform have had to sacrifice either resolution or framerate.

In a desperate move, Microsoft is reportedly getting ready to reduce the reserve GPU power in the new console.

As standard, 80% of the GPU's power can be used by games, while 20% is reserved for its operating system and different features.

Now, according to Pete Dodd on Twitter, a reliable source in the past, it seems that the reserve GPU will be lowered to 10%. 2% of that will be dedicated to voice functions, while 8% can also be used by developers for various other tasks.

Bear in mind that this is a report, so take it with a grain of salt.
