The device needs exclusive titles to gain more sales

The team at Microsoft in charge of the Xbox One home console is delivering an official trailer which talks about the presence of the next-gen device at the upcoming Gamescom 2014 event in Cologne, Germany.

The company is promising that it will deliver a number of daily highlight videos for all those interested, a full briefing about future video games, which will be aired on August 12, and a big multiplayer reveal for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on August 11.

The Xbox One needs to have a big presence at Gamescom 2014 because at the moment it is lagging behind the PlayStation 4 from Sony in terms of overall sales, a discrepancy that's especially important in Europe.

It's unclear whether the company also has plans to deliver a reveal for an entirely new title.

The device has been posting limited sales despite the fact that the Kinect motion tracking system was eliminated from the core retail package and the price was dropped to 399 dollars or Euro.

Microsoft will deliver the Xbox One to a number of secondary markets in September, including both China and Japan, and the company believes that its presence will boost overall sales for the year in significant ways.
