The development team working on Skype announces that it is launching the 1.8 version of the program for the Xbox One home console from Microsoft, designed to improve the user experience by introducing a simple way to see photos from mobile devices.

The official announcement states, “Skype users from Windows Phone, Android and iOS mobile devices can now share pictures with Skype for Xbox One users either in a 1:1 or group chat. If there are multiple photos being shared, you can start a slide show to view all the photos, right on your large screen.”

Other improvements for Skype on the Xbox One include the ability to answer an incoming call in Snap mode while using other applications that use voice controls.

The app also allows users to see their recent and their favorite contacts and then make calls quickly from Snap, while also getting access to preview for messages.

The developers are also inviting all those who are using Skype on the Xbox One to offer feedback and report any problems with the app in order to make sure that future updates further improve it.

Since it was launched, the Microsoft home console has received a number of high profile apps designed to attract customers.
