Microsoft says that it will allow all those who buy disk-based video games for the Xbox One home console to gift them away to one of their friends one time.

The company states in a Xbox Wire article that, “There are two requirements: you can only give them to people who have been on your friends list for at least 30 days and each game can only be given once.”

The policy is a nice surprise given the tough stance that Microsoft was supposed to have towards the used game market.

The company has also announced that publishers will be the ones to choose how they will handle the secondary market.

Microsoft itself will not collect any fees from others companies or from the players themselves.

The Xbox One will be out before the end of the year.
