Microsoft announces that it is getting ready to invest around 700 million dollars (534 million Euro) in a new data center in Des Moines, Iowa, in order to offer the processing power and the storage required by the cloud computing of the Xbox One.

Christian Belady, the general manager of the data center services division at Microsoft, tells the local Register that the investment will power “the growing demand for Microsoft’s cloud services.”

Microsoft says that it will use more than 300,000 servers in November in order to power the Xbox One cloud features and the new incarnation of Live.

The company says that these servers will be able to offer more computing power to developers who will, in turn, create deeper and more engaging experiences for gamers.

Microsoft has recently said that the launch date for the Xbox One is not set for the rumored November 27.
