The team at Microsoft in charge of the Xbox One is announcing that they are launching an update for the dedicated app for the Windows 10 operating system, which is designed to improve functionality, especially when it comes to the navigation bar and the friends section.

The company aims to continue to listen to feedback coming from gamers in the coming months in order to deliver improvements that will make it easier to follow home console activity on any PC.

The Xbox Wire announcement tells gamers that the top navigation bar now has a smiley face which can be used to deliver feedback about the Xbox One app, rate it or get access to the official forums for those looking for more info.

When it comes to Friends, users can see a Suggestion header at the top of their list, which shows who they might be interested in creating links with and there is also a See All button which allows gamers to see a list of VIPs and other people they might know.

The Settings page of the Xbox One app for Windows 10 has also been tweaked slightly.

Microsoft adds, "You will automatically get updated to the February version of the Xbox app, when it becomes available in the Store (Beta). Once you receive the update, your version number should be 2.2.1502.02017 or higher. You can verify the version number of the Xbox app under Settings."

Xbox One and Windows 10 will get more integration in the future

Microsoft wants to make gaming on Windows 10 more important when the new operating system launches and also has plans to allow for streaming between the Xbox One and the PC.

The app will continue to evolve as more ideas are implemented and the community reacts to them.

The Xbox One is at the moment behind the PlayStation 4 from Sony in terms of worldwide sales and has not managed to beat its rival during the month of January in the United States.

The company has implemented a long-term price-cut which might deliver some results in the coming months and Microsoft also claims that it has seen a bit increase in the number of users and the time spent on Xbox Live.
