Stephen Toulouse, who is known to gamers as “Stepto” and is the director of policy and enforcement for the Xbox Live service from Microsoft, has announced that he is planning to leave his post in two weeks in order to explore a number of other opportunities.

Toulouse said that his job was to give Xbox Live the best experience possible, making sure that the time spent on the Microsoft service was “consistent, safe, and enjoyable one.”

The executive worked on matters includes bannings, suspension, stolen accounts, which are particularly sensitive and play a large role when it comes to how the customer base views Xbox Live and Microsoft.

Toulouse stated in a farewell letters sent to co-workers that, “My reasons for leaving are complex and personal, but the parting could not be more amicable. I continue to believe this place makes great technology, and I am absolutely thrilled for the future of Xbox and Xbox Live.”

The executive says that he has no clear plans for another job at the moment and he pointed out that before working on Xbox Live he was also part of Microsoft, where he worked since being 21 years old.

Microsoft has not yet announced who will be replacing Toulouse as the director of policy and enforcement for Xbox Live.

The service has recently grown in importance for the Xbox 360 home console because it has been expanded to offer much more than just games, allowing gamers to get access to entertainment experience and develop their own social spaces.

Recent rumors have suggested that Microsoft was preparing to eliminate the Microsoft Points system that has powered Xbox Live since it was introduced and replace it with a new payment structure that uses real-world currency.

Xbox Live is also expected to play a much bigger role in the next home console from Microsoft, with some suggesting that the service will also offer game streaming and digital downloads.
