The team at Microsoft in charge of the Xbox Live marketplace service acknowledges that more than one thousand video games have vanished from the service and pledges to fix the glitch that caused the problem and make them available for players once again.

Developers found out that the problem appeared early this morning and told the platform holder about it and since then, more content has gone missing, including some DLC and Smartglass applications.

A Microsoft spokesperson tells Gamasutra about the Xbox Live problem that, "We're aware there is an issue affecting the Xbox Games Store that has temporarily removed some content including Xbox Live Arcade and Xbox Live Indie Games titles. This is a technical glitch and we're working to fix the issue as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience."

It's unclear when the many missing video games might be reinstated on the Xbox Live marketplace.
