Microsoft, in an effort to not alienate gamers from outside the USA, has just revealed that it will be hosting a Xbox Free Live Weekend, starting today, November 26, until November 28.

More specifically, anyone that just has a Xbox Free account (formerly known as Xbox Live Silver), will be able to access all of Xbox Live's services, just how paying subscribers do, thanks to their Gold membership.

"All Xbox LIVE Free members will be upgraded to Gold – giving you access to the complete Xbox LIVE experience, including online multiplayer games, instantly-streamed movies and music in Zune , voice chat, Video Kinect and great social features like Twitter and Facebook to share your achievements with your friends."

"You’ll also be able to explore an amazing line-up of movies and music, and find some awesome discounted goodies in Xbox LIVE Marketplace."

If you want to partake in this special offer and have the experience of a Xbox Live Gold account, then all you have to do is start up your Xbox 360 and select the Free Live Weekend page in the Spotlight section.

As of right now, it seems that the offer is only available in Europe, with the announcement being made by the Xbox Live UK website.

Hopefully Microsoft will be expanding this offer all around the world, in order to draw in people that are still on the fence about paying $60 a year in exchange for a Xbox Live Gold account.

This is also a great chance to lure in more people that have yet to upgrade with the Xbox Live Fall Update.

For those that didn't connect their console to the web, this mandatory update brings a new dashboard user interface, support for new features like Zune, the capability to search in the Netflix feature for new movies, as well as enhanced voice chat support.

Microsoft has also added the Zune Music service, a simplified QWERTY virtual keyboard, a new design of the Games Marketplace and a changed Avatar system so that the characters will look better when playing Kinect games.
