The new dashboard is causing some serious errors Enlarge picture - The new dashboard is causing some serious errors
Microsoft has confirmed that it’s working on solutions for errors that have been plaguing the Xbox 360 users, specifically those that result in error codes 801540B7 and 80070571, which are encountered by gamers when they try to log into their profile and then prevents their access to things like profile management, online gaming or any purchased content.

Ever since Microsoft deployed the brand new dashboard update for the Xbox 360 earlier this month, owners of the console have encountered a variety of issues, errors and problems, too few of which were actually acknowledged by the company.

Now, after Joystiq received multiple complains from readers about these two errors, 801540B7 and 80070571, Microsoft actually released a statement about them and how it’s working on solutions that will solve these two specific issues.

"We have recently identified an Xbox Live profile data error that results in Error Code 801540B7 for a small number of Xbox Live members. The error instructs users to attempt to re-download their Xbox Live profile and directs them to customer service support for further assistance. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused to our loyal Xbox Live members and are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible."

Have you encountered these two errors after installing the new dashboard or was your experience, trouble-free?

I didn't have an of these problems but after the update when ever I try to create a party with my brother and some other friends I get disconnected from xbox live. I don't know this has something to do with the update or not but it worked perfectly fine before this update so I'm only guessing its the problem.

Plug in a USB storage device to your Xbox console. Then go to system settings and click storage devices. Then format the USB for your Xbox. Only use this USB for Xbox and make sure no other file you need such as family photos are on there or they will be deleted. Once you format the USB, download your profile to your storage device and your Xbox profile should be up and running :)

Comment #3 by: tim on 28 Dec 2011, 12:44 UTC reply to this comment

I have found a solution to this when it happened to me, all you need to do is go system on settings - memory - hard drive - profiles - and then look for your profile and it should say corrupted. delete profile only and then try re downloading it and it should allow you.

Comment #7 by: TheOG on 02 Feb 2012, 17:32 UTC reply to this comment

I don't use live much, but recently tried to log in to get some DLC for a game I purchased. I could not load my profile from my memory card nor could I move or download the profile to my HD. I have recieved both of those error codes and web searches regarding them point to "page not found" on the xbox site. My PS3 has been snikering in the corner the whole time. Looking forward to the fix. Thanks softpedia for ACTUALLY telling me what was happening.

Comment #7.1 by: jools224 on 03 Feb 2012, 20:37 GMT

I just had this experience. I've tried every bit of advice, nothing seems to work. My profile was deleted because I tried to re-download it, and it won't even let me. I get this error code. 80150101, So I'm wondering, will this resolve itself soon, or is my profile a goner?

Comment #32.1 by: MyaTheBee on 25 Nov 2012, 22:20 GMT

This just happened with my and my girlfriend...i finally convinced her to get a xbox live account since she used to share mine..

She creates the account and wants to change the name because ''It's not very cute'' lol so we change and then..all hell breaks loose..xbox live disconnects from the internet and her account totally disapeers!? It's not even on the hard-drive! We tried downloading the profile back but of course the dreaded 80070571D error shows.

WHAT NOW MICROSOFT! FIX THIS!?
