14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft confirms that it's bringing back its traditional end of the year countdown promotion, this time in the form of the Countdown to 2015 sale, which kicks off today, December 16, and brings deals on many different Xbox One and Xbox 360 digital games.
Microsoft has already offered quite a few big deals in recent weeks, as the large company celebrated Thanksgiving and Black Friday with a wide array of promotions on games, accessories, and consoles, as throughout these months a special price cut has been in effect on Xbox One bundles with quite a few major games.
Countdown to 2015 goes live today
Now, for the end of the year and the winter holidays, Microsoft is unfolding its Countdown to 2015 sale later today, December 16, all over the world via the Xbox Live Marketplace. Quite a lot of major games and bundles are available for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 platforms.
As always, there is a series of deals that last the whole week, ending on December 22, and a few daily deals that get swapped out every 24 hours and bring even bigger discounts on highly-coveted experiences.
"Celebrate the Countdown to 2015 with daily and weekly deals on games and video content in the Xbox Store on Xbox One and 360 with a number of exclusive deals for Xbox Live Gold members. To kick things off we have the following special offers that will go on sale tomorrow and be available at the below discount until December 22, 2014," Microsoft Community Manager Larry Hryb writes on his blog.
Major games are discounted throughout the week
First up, in terms of Xbox One titles, there is a series of great week-long deals for Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4 Premium Edition, Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes, PES 2015, The Evil Within, Wolfenstein: The New Order, Assassin's Creed Unity, and more.
Ubisoft is also bringing two different bundles that include The Crew and Assassin's Creed Unity, or The Crew and Far Cry 4, which have lower prices. Bear in mind that some of those deals are available only for Xbox Live Gold members, but plenty are also valid for regular users.
On Xbox 360, an even wider array of games and add-ons for them are available with discounts, from The Evil Within to a variety of Resident Evil titles, Titanfall, Call of Duty: Ghosts, or Tomb Raider.
The daily deals are available on Xbox One for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and its season pass, as well as for Lego The Hobbit. On Xbox 360, the deals include Lego The Hobbit and Lego Lord of the Rings.
