Redmond-based software giant Microsoft seems ready to add some more features to its future Windows Mobile 7 operating system in its quest to making the platform much more user friendly. It seems that the upcoming platform flavor and Xbox Live will be joined, something that has been rumored a few times before and now has been confirmed via two job ads from Microsoft. The two positions are a Developer Account Manager and a 3PP (3rd Party) Account Manager, and both put together in the same phrase Windows Mobile and Xbox LIVE.

“We are seeking a technically savvy Developer Account Manager to own and drive the relationship with our top mobile entertainment development partners. You will work closely with our Business Account Management teams, Engineering support teams, Windows Mobile and Xbox LIVE platform teams as the advocate for your partners to drive solutions to their development needs. You can be a key part of making gaming on Windows Mobile a continued success! [...] You will help raise the bar of gaming on Windows Mobile, and help drive adoption of our unique platform features in our partner’s games,” the Developer Account Manager ad discovered by MobileTechWorld states.

What exactly Windows Mobile and Xbox will share is not known at the moment, yet one thing is certain: Microsoft is getting increasingly serious when it comes to the development of Windows Mobile 7, and the inclusion of some enhanced gaming features with the platform is something that will help it a lot in its quest. The arrival of Xbox Live on Windows Mobile has been rumored before, and now it seems that something will indeed happen in the area, it just remains to be seen what and to what extent.

The second ad says the following: “we’re looking for the best candidate to own several game publishing companies to secure the best video games for Xbox, Windows and Mobile gaming platforms. With an emphasis on Mobile. [...] The 3PP (3rd Party) Account Manager will act as the day to day contact for publishers within Microsoft, and will leverage the resources available (developer support, marketing, LIVE, business development, subsidiary offices, etc) to ensure that the best possible games with the most comprehensive feature set (esp. LIVE support) are released.”

Considering the latest pieces of news on Windows Mobile 7 that we've seen on the web, we can only expect for the upcoming operating system to bring the user experience to a whole new level. Compared to the existing WM flavors, the forthcoming platform will indeed be a step forward, but we can only hope that it will be able to prove a great software solution compared to other OSes that will come to the market by the time it arrives here, something that should happen sometime in late 2010.
