Redmond-based software giant Microsoft has just unveiled the first batch of Xbox LIVE titles that should become available for the new Windows Phone 7 operating system when launched later this year. More similar games, as well as other software solutions, should become available for the platform. The upcoming Windows Phone 7 OS can deliver the Xbox LIVE experience in the palm of you hand, including Xbox LIVE Avatars and connectivity with friends.

Previously, Microsoft touted the Xbox LIVE gaming capabilities of Windows Phone 7 as one of the nicest feature the operating system was set to land on the market with, but it is only now that we learn what exactly does the company has in store for us and what titles would be available for early Windows Phone 7 adopters.

According to Microsoft, the Games hub on Windows Phone 7 device would offer access to some of the most appealing games available for users, as they were selected from “top names in mobile, PC and console game development,” in an attempt to offer the best gaming experience on mobile phones. The Xbox LIVE integration should help too.

“Windows Phone 7 takes a different approach to handheld gaming, utilizing Xbox LIVE, Microsoft Game Studios, leading game publishers, and innovative indie developers, to create powerful, shared experiences for everyone,” Marc Whitten, corporate vice president of Xbox LIVE at Microsoft.

When it comes to the list of Xbox LIVE games on Windows Phone 7, we can count: Age of Zombies, Assassins Creed, Bejeweled LIVE, Deal or No Deal 2010, Fast & Furious 7, Flight Control, Fruit Ninja, Guitar Hero 5, Jet Car Stunts, Let’s Golf 2, More Brain Exercise, Rise of Glory Zombie Attack!, and many others more.

More games are expected to be added to the list before the first Windows Phone 7 devices are launched on the market during the holiday season, while other Xbox LIVE titles should become available after the official launch. The entire list of titles can be seen here.

Additionally, Windows Phone 7 is said to be supported by content from Microsoft Game Studios (MGS), offering users the possibility to taste first-party gaming titles on their devices, including familiar titles such as Halo: Waypoint, and Crackdown 2.
