A brand new report has surfaced on the web regarding the next generation of home consoles, saying that the next Xbox device (aka the Xbox 720) is codenamed Kryptos and will be released in fall of 2013, while the PlayStation 4 is codenamed Thebes and will be launched in spring of 2014.

Next-generation platforms have been rumored for some time now, but a brand new report has just surfaced to bring some new details about the upcoming home consoles.

According to SemiAccurate, the next Xbox console is currently codenamed Kryptos, not Durango as was previously reported, and its test hardware is called Oban.

While the new Xbox is scheduled to enter production right at the end of this year, problems with the manufacturing process might mean a fall or even winter 2013 release.

The website also claims that the PlayStation 4 is codenamed Thebes, not Orbis, and will be based on an AMD CPU and GPU. The rumored release window is spring of 2014, but it could be pushed back to fall of 2014.

As of yet, this info is completely new so take it with a grain of salt.
