Xbox 360 versus Playstation 3 versus RevolutionXbox is the first to be launched, but the real battle is just about to begin |

A special MTV show was prepared for Xbox 360. The launch of the next gaming generation console was presented by Lord of the Rings star Elijah Wood.
The show featured also an Irish band, Snow Patrol, the Killers, and actress Scarlett Johansson.
What do we know right now about the new Xbox? That it will be an entertainment hub, with more than one teraflop of system-floating point performance, a three-core PowerPC-based CPU for the most-advanced artificial intelligence and physics processing, a custom ATI graphics processor, and more than 512 MB of memory for the ultimate visual experience, the Xbox 360 hardware is a perfect blend of power, elegance and balance.
The console will be available before Christmas, this year, long before its competitors and there is a long list of games that are coming to support the newly launched gaming warrior, which will also be available in the holiday season.
Briefly, Xbox 360 brings a lot of promises. The fact that Microsoft decided to unveil its new gaming platform in an exclusive show at MTV, rather than wait for E3 Expo, has both advantages and disadvantages.
The main advantage is the exclusivity. Instead of a show at E3 Expo, where Microsoft doesn't know what Sony may prepare, Xbox 360 had its own glamorous presentation.
But, until E3 Expo, Xbox 360 will be already old news, and Sony and Nintendo, may overcome Microsoft's gaming platform, bringing something more exciting.
Sony is expected to reveal more details of its PlayStation 3 console, shrouded until now in mystery, on Monday. The third version of the top-selling video game machine is expected to include the new "Cell" microprocessor developed with International Business Machines Corp. and Toshiba Corp. and also support Sony's next-generation high-capacity format for DVD discs.
Nintendo, with its Revolution, is expected to design the console as a pure gaming machine rather than an entertainment hub, so it doesn't seem as a real competitor for Xbox 360.
On the other hand, PlayStation 3 specifications, as far as we know, sound more attracting compared to Xbox 360. Also, there are a lot of games announced for Xbox, but let's wait to see who and how, from the game developers, are going to support PlayStation 3.
So, let's not rush and proclaim Xbox 360 the new king of gaming. The real battle will be at E3 Expo.
