Microsoft has launched its third generation gaming console, Xbox 360 on November 22 in USA and now it's already
sold out. The new Xbox created frenzy, fans queuing in front of shops all night waiting to be one of the first to get Microsoft's new console. The Police help
was needed in some places to maintain the order.
By the end of the year, Microsoft is expecting to sell over one million consoles. Analysts estimate that 400,000 consoles were sold from the launch date until Thanksgiving weekend in USA. Also, the Redmond giant is expecting to
continue the Xbox 360 frenzy in Europe, the console having been launched on the 2nd of December.
Asia is the next place where Xbox 360 will arrive.
In Japan it will be launched the 10th of December and in Singapore - the 2nd of March 2006. For the Asian market, Microsoft bundled popular Japanese games that use the powerful technology inside the Xbox 360.
Xbox 360 is not only a gaming console.
Microsoft has conceived it also as a DVD player, as a music hub, a system for digital TV entertainment. Using this platform, games can evolve to much more than that. They can be used as a music promoter, a multimedia shop, opening many doors for new business models.
