Microsoft has just confirmed the two free titles that will be available for Xbox 360 owners with active Xbox Live Gold subscriptions during the month of March, via the Games with Gold promotion - Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution and Dungeon Defenders.

The Games with Gold program has been a great success on the Xbox 360, adding quite a bit of extra value to the Xbox Live Gold subscription, which is mandatory for online access on both the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One.

Since the promotion's debut last summer, quite a lot of free games have been offered to Gold subscribers, like Sleeping Dogs, Halo 3, or Assassin's Creed 2.

Now, seeing as how we're entering a brand new month, Microsoft has revealed on its Xbox Wire what new games are going free in March.

To kick things off, between March 1 and March 15, all Xbox 360 owners with valid Xbox Live Gold subscriptions can download for free Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution, the console spinoff of the massively popular Civilization franchise, which captured the hearts and minds of PC gamers worldwide.

Civilization Revolution first appeared way back in 2008 on the PS3 and Xbox 360 and impressed quite a few gamers by actually managing to translate rather well the turn-based system from the PC onto the consoles of that period.

The game, as always, allows players to lead their chosen nation from the dawn of man to the space age by constantly upgrading your skills and knowledge while avoiding or favoring wars with other nations.

You can conduct diplomacy with some of the greatest figures in history, discover new technologies and continue building the most powerful empire known to man. Besides the constantly changing gameplay, you also have a multiplayer mode, not to mention leaderboards or achievements.

Between March 16 and 31, Xbox Live Gold subscribers will be able to download Dungeon Defenders, the delightful action role-playing game with tower defense elements from Trendy Entertainment.

The game, in case you forgot, emphasizes cooperation, as players must work together to defend a dungeon from enemies by creating their own hero from different classes, and summoning towers or traps to help eliminate the attackers.

You can customize your character by defeating enemies, looting equipment from the environment, and can also upgrade your gear and pets in order to withstand the hordes of enemies.

There are plenty of difficulty modes, not to mention many missions, and quite a lot of DLC which, unfortunately, is still available for a price.
