As previously reported, Microsoft is planning to push a whole set of super affordable tablet devices in India.

One of the first to grace the market will apparently be the XOLO win, which has now received the “coming soon” tag.

At a Microsoft-held event in New Delhi this week, popular device manufacturer LAVA International showed off the new Windows based tablet (via WPCentral).

XOLO is a premium smart device brand, coming from LAVA, one of the top three Indian handset companies.

If you’re curious about specifications, let me tell you the XOLO Win is a Windows 8 tablet featuring a 10.1-inch display with a pretty unimpressive resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.

Power comes from an AMD A4 – 1200 dual-core 1.0 GHz “Temash” processor with AMD Radeon HD 8180G graphics combined with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

Lava throws in dual cameras, in the form of a 2MP rear camera and 1MP frontal one, a 3550 mAh battery (which should last up to 6 hours of active use) and a USB 2.0 port.

The tablet weighs a chunky 750 g / 1.6 lbs and is 15.45 mm / 0.6 inches thick and will certainly not impress customers by virtue of its design, but represents a decent attempt at building the first Windows tablet. As an added bonus, the company throws in Office Home & Student 2013 Suite.

When it arrives on the Indian market in a few weeks the XOLO Win should be priced at around $360 / €260.
