Only 5,000 units were available for pre-order over the weekend

We’ve already reported on XOLO’s first Windows Phone handset that should go on sale in India next month, the Win Q900s, so here are more details on how well the smartphone has been received among customers.

Announced on Saturday, XOLO Win Q900s was put on pre-order exclusively through major online retailer Snapdeal. However, the Indian OEM has confirmed that there are only 5,000 units available in stock, so those who really want an affordable Windows Phone handset should have pre-ordered one immediately after the announcement.

If you were out during the weekend and did not hear the news on XOLO Win Q900s, so you couldn’t order one, we’re sorry to say but now it’s too late to place your order.

By visiting the smartphone’s page on Snapdeal’s webstore, you will notice that the phone is now sold out. It took less than 24 hours for the retailer to get rid of all Win Q900s units in stock, but it only had 5,000, so it’s kind of normal for the smartphone to be sold out in such a short time.

Snapdeal has yet to confirm when the next batch of XOLO Win Q900s arrives in stock (virtually), but customers anxious to place their pre-orders can register with their emails to get details on when the smartphone will be available once again.

XOLO Win Q900s is available for pre-order for only Rs 9,999 ($165 / €120) outright, but this price is only valid for the pre-order period. Immediately after the smartphone goes on sale, it will be priced at Rs 11,999 ($200 / €145), or at least that’s what XOLO claims.

Specs-wise, XOLO’s smartphone seems like a very good deal considering that it comes with the latest version of Windows Phone onboard. The handset is equipped with a more than decent 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor and 1GB of RAM, which is more than enough for the smartphone to run most of the apps and games in the Windows Phone Store.

Some features included in Windows Phone 8.1 might not work on devices with only 512MB, but XOLO avoided this possible issue by adding 1GB of RAM from the start.

The smartphone also comes with a 4.7-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution, which is based on One Glass Solution technology.

The dual-SIM Win Q900s also packs an 8-megapixel main camera on the back with PureCel sensor, autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as a secondary 2-megapixel camera in the front.
