Indian company XOLO has quietly introduced a new Android smartphone in the country, the Q1011. The device is aimed at the mid-range market and will be available for purchase beginning June 27.

However, potential customers should know that the smartphone will be exclusively available via Amazon India for Rs 9,999 ($165 / €120) off contract. XOLO Q1011 will be available both in white and black color options and customers who purchase it will be offered free delivery.

Although it’s a mid-range smartphone, the Q1011 will ship with Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, as the Indian OEM confirms on its official website: “Beautiful & immersive Android KitKat 4.4 gives Q1011 a polished user interface and enhances performance.

Not just this, it also optimizes memory for a seamless and smooth multitasking experience. Top it all with a touchscreen that responds faster and with much greater accuracy than ever before.”

The 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display is based on the One Glass Solution technology and supports HD (720p) resolution.

Another strong point of the XOLO Q1011 is the high-capacity 2250 mAh battery that powers the phone, which should provide up to 550 hours of standby time (510 hours in 3G mode) or up to 27 hours of talk time (14 hours in 3G mode).

On the inside, XOLO’s mid-range Android smartphone is equipped with a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor, a Mali 400 - MP2 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

Even though the smartphone packs only 4GB of storage, users will be able to further expand storage up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

It’s also worth mentioning that XOLO Q1011 boasts an enhanced 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with BSI Sensor, autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.

The main camera offers numerous additional features like scene detection & tuning, HDR, Low Light enhancement, Face recognition and geo tagging. There’s also a secondary 2-megapixel camera in the front for video calls and selfies.

When it comes to connectivity, the Q1011 offers a wide range of options such as dual-SIM capability, HSPA+ (21Mbps), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB with USB OTG (on-the-go) support and GPS with A-GPS.

It’s unclear why XOLO has decided to offer the Q1011 exclusively via Amazon India, especially that there are other alternatives with similar features that are now sold through all major retailers in the country. Time will tell whether or not XOLO’s decision will affect Q1011 sales, so stay tuned for more details on this one.
