Not the best time for XOLO to launch a new Android smartphone given Google's recent announcement, but here it goes.

AndroidOS reports XOLO A600 is now available for purchase in India for only Rs 8,199 outright, which is about $135 or €95.

The smartphone ships with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, which is decent enough for such an affordable smartphone.

As expected, the handset offers dual-SIM support, which might be one of XOLO A600's main selling point. Customers who want an affordable smartphone with a recent version of Android may be tempted to give the XOLO A600 a try.

Hardware-wise, the A600 comes equipped with a 1.3 GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6572W processor, which is complemented by a Mali-400 MB graphics processing unit and only 512MB of RAM.

In addition, the smartphone packs 4GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

XOLO A600 sports a large 4.5-inch IPS qHD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution and 16 million colors.

On the back, the handset packs a 5-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while in the front there's a secondary VGA camera for video calls.

Other highlights of smartphone include: FM Radio, microUSB, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi and 3.5mm audio jack connectivity, as well as built-in GPS and 1900 mAh Li-Ion battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.

This is the second Android smartphone launched by XOLO this week, after the Indian company released the Q900 for Rs 12,999 outright, which is about $210 or €155.

However, the Q900 sports a slightly larger 4.7-inch HD display and a much better 8-megapixel rear facing camera. It also comes with 3G connectivity, 1GB of RAM and 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.
