A new Android-based smartphone from XOLO is now available for purchase in India, none other than the XOLO A550s IPS, the latest device that the company has released in the A Series.

The mobile phone has made an appearance in the country on the website of online retailer Flipkart, which offers it at a price of Rs. 5,599 ($92/€69) at the moment.

The new XOLO A550s IPS comes to shelves with entry-level hardware specs inside, starting with a 4-inch touchscreen display that can deliver a WVGA (480 x 850 pixels) resolution.

Moreover, the handset was released with a 1GHz dual-core processor complemented by Mali-400 MP graphics and 512MB of RAM.

XOLO A550s IPS also includes 4GB of internal memory, along with a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes and a 1400mAh battery.

The phone sports a 5-megapixel camera on the back, with HD video recording capabilities, along with a VGA front camera for making video calls while on the go.

The handset includes dual-SIM capabilities and runs under the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system, though it is upgradable to Android 4.4 KitKat, it seems.

According to Flipkart, the smartphone is in stock today, and it should ship to orders in 4 or 5 business days.
