XGIII: Extreme G Racing Cheats and Hints (PS2)

XGIII: Extreme G Racing is a racing video game that gives players a chance to race their rivals on science fiction themed courses at high speed, with weapons allowed in order to make the game more exciting and blow other vehicles off the track.

The game has a cyberpunk aesthetic and players will be able to upgrade their abilities and their vehicles after each successful race.

The game was developed by the Cheltenham studio of Acclaim, which also handled the publishing duties.

XGIII: Extreme G Racing is playable on the PlayStation 2 from Sony and also on the Game Cube and most reviewers were pretty satisfied with the game experience, giving it a review score of 8 out of 10.

The game experience is fast and fluid, with most races won or lost on the first few turns, and players will need to pay close attention to when rival racers use their weaponry.

CHEATS

Extreme lap challenge

Press L1, L2, L1, R1, L1, R2, L1 + R1, L2 + R2 at the main menu. A message appears and will confirm correct code entry. This unlocks an oval track on which the vehicles can get to maximum speed.

StarCom team

Press L1, L2, R2, R1, R1, R2, L2, L1 at the main menu. A message will confirm correct code entry.

Alternately, successfully complete the game and win every trophy to unlock the ultimate Robotic team, StarCom.

GAMEPLAY HINTS

Quick start

To get a jump start when you begin a race, hold Forward during the countdown without pressing Gas. As soon as ''Go" appears, hit the accelerator.

Break the sound barrier

Reach a speed of at least 750 mph to break the sound barrier. Enable the "Unlimited shield and turbos" code to make this easier to accomplish.
