Chinese website Inpai tells us that XFX is preparing a new Malta graphics card, which is the codename for the Radeon HD 7990 dual-GPU board based on Tahiti, the current-generation 28nm chip from the Sunnyvale company.

Contrary to what some may hope and expect, the XFX Radeon HD 7990 Triple Dissipation, as the adapter is called, doesn't have factory overclocked GPUs and memory.

Instead, it sticks to 950 MHZ / 1 GHz Turbo for the Tahiti GPUs (4,096 Stream Processors) and 6 GHz for the 6 GB of GDDR5 VRAM (2 x 3 GB over 384-bit interfaces).

What makes the card stand out is the cooler (see below) and the TDP of 300W, quite a bit below the already modest 375W TDP of the original.

The Triple Dissipation cooler has three fans (80 mm each) on an aluminum shroud made of two large aluminum fin blocks, each getting heat via multiple dense heatpipes. A third heatsink cools the volage regulation module (VRM), while a backplate handled the back of the PCB.

As for connectivity, a single DVI port and four DisplayPorts are included. No HDMI or VGA. Sadly, no prices or availability details exist, but I doubt the tag will stray too far from $700 / €700.
