XFX, one of the world's leading manufacturers of discrete graphics cards, is expected to further diversify its product portfolio with the introduction of its first line of power supply units. The company, which recently turned from an NVIDIA-only partner to one that offers graphics cards based on both GeForce and Radeon GPUs, plans to announce the new line of PSUs during the Computex 2009 computer show, slated for debut on June 2, almost one week from now.

Details of the first line of power supply units from XFX, have recently emerged on Legitreviews, which also managed to score some pictures of the upcoming PSU. According to the available specifications of the new XFX 850W Black Edition PSU, users should expect the same level of high performance XFX has put into its line of video accelerators. The unit will be ready to provide users with a +12V rail and a 70Amp/840W rating. As most high-end PSUs on the market, this offering from XFX is featured with a modular design and comes with an 80 plus silver certification.

The entire unit also boasts an interesting, industrial design. This is meant to protect the PSU from exterior elements, but also provide users with a killer look. Given the available specifications, the PSU will be ready to provide support to all those computer enthusiasts looking to build themselves a state-of-the-art desktop rig, featuring the latest hardware components and high-performance materials.

XFX's foray into the market for PSUs is somewhat justifiable, given the current market conditions. Due to slow demand, the company is looking to diversify its product offering. Unfortunately, there's no word on pricing just yet, but the manufacturer is said to be planning the official unveiling and launch of its first line of PSUs during the Computex 2009 computer show in Taipei, Taiwan.
