The mainboard can handle up to 128 GB of RAM and has six PCI Express x16 slots

ASRock has revealed several mainboards built around the X99 chipset, which boasts the LGA 2011-3 socket, but this one, the X99 WS, may just be the most overpowered.

It's not the small platform that the X99M Killer is, but it's not like the X99X Killer Fatal1ty either. No, it is better than both of them.

One major hint to that effect is the massive memory support, of 128 GB via eight DDR4 DIMM slots. Sure, you won't be able to reach that capacity until 16 GB modules are launched, in 2015, but it's good to be prepared for the future.

The other blatant hint is the sheer number of PCI Express x16 slots: there are six of them. And people thought that having four slots (and, thus, support for quad-channel SLI/CrossFire GPU configurations) was impressive.

The ASRock X99 WS also has two Gigabit Ethernet connectors, 7.1 channel Purity Sound, eSATA, four USB 3.0 ports, ten SATA 6.0 Gbps ports, an Ultra M.2 port (for 1.8 GB/s M.2 SSDs wired through PCIe 3.0 x4 technology), and last but not least, the Super Alloy technology.

Which is to say, the newcomer has large aluminum alloy heatsinks, dual-stack MOSFET, premium alloy chokes, and 12K platinum capacitors. In a way, it's a good thing the price is still a secret, because it might cause some people to faint in shock.
