Gigabyte release a new BIOS for their line of motherboards equipped with Intel LGA2011 sockets. Version F7 brings improvements in the protection mechanism, as Gigabyte note.
As far as we know, the present update is likely to enhance the overvoltage and overheating protection routines which would shut down your system in case things go wrong.
Certain boards were fried recently as users attempted to overclock them, and a MOSFET went up in smoke; the F7 BIOS looks like a mandatory update even if you're not overclocking.
Better safe than sorry, people say, so installing the F7 BIOS with better protection is a wise idea. Here are the dedicated links for all the 4 motherboards:

Try to set a system restore point before installing a BIOS or device driver. This will help if you installed a wrong BIOS or driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
