14 DAY TRIAL // X2 Games just announced their X2 Snowboarding BASE for iPhone and iPod Touch, a new version of the highly-acclaimed winter sports hit X2 Snowboarding. This is the second version of X2 Snowboarding, after X2 Snowboarding School was launched a while ago.
The new BASE version features the same arcade-like action type of game in a bite-sized form.
Players will be able to extend the free-to-play content as they see fit, by using an interesting feature offered in-game that enables them to download more tracks or other related content.
Des Gayle, producer, X2 Games comments: “X2 Games is all about what the player wants, so we’re offering X2 Snowboarding’s high-quality gameplay in a new form, which lets them tailor content from the full version to their own wishes by buying what they want from the full version, when they want it.”
He continues; “We’re making sure the free-to-play download is enough to get players hooked and compelled to complete the collection without locking away fun features like multiplayer or offering cut-down levels.”
Some of the highlights of the game include: Fluid motion and touch controls; Optimal graphics & unique visual style; Bluetooth & local WiFi multiplayer; Full motion-captured player animations; In-game rewind: re-wind and re-play during your run to retry missed opportunities; Adrenaline: slow down time and enhance your handling and trick performance capabilities; Replay save system; Tru Thoughts Recordings licensed soundtrack: featuring Quantic, Bonobo & Mr Scruff; Official Salomon in-game boards unlocked as you progress.
X2 Snowboarding BASE will be available on AppStore starting on Friday 13th August.
Those that will download the free version of the game will find that it includes only two tracks, two characters and two board designs from the full version, but it will still support multiplayer over Bluetooth and WiFi.
To add more features users will have to pay 0.79 Euros for additional tracks, characters or snowboards.
