Wayland, a protocol for a compositor to talk to its clients, as well as a C library implementation of that protocol, which can be used as a standalone display server running on Linux kernel modesetting and evdev input devices, an X application, or a Wayland client itself, has reached version 1.0.3.

Wayland 1.0.3 is a maintenance release and only some test suite rewrite and fixes make up the bulk of the Weston changes along, with a fistful of Coverity fixes.

The next planned version is 1.2.0 and will it will be launched in 2013. “With this we don't really have any major gaps or issues left with the 1.0 releases. We may backport new features if the need arises or make another release if we find a serious problem, but for now I don't have any more 1.0.x releases scheduled,” stated Kristian Høgsberg, one of the developers from the Wayland project

A detailed list of changes can be found in the official announcement.
