14 DAY TRIAL // Before a new, live X Factor USA show kicked off, all the contestants took to the stage to pay a touching tribute to the victims of the Sandy Hook School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.

Prefaced by a short speech by Simon Cowell, who offered his condolences to the families of the 26 victims, the tribute included all X Factor contestants, both those eliminated and those still in the running.
They covered Michael Jackson’s “You Are Not Alone” and were joined by a children’s choir towards the end, as the name of the victims, 20 of whom were children in elementary school, were displayed on the large screens behind.
The performance ended with “You are not alone. We are here with you” displayed on the same screens.
