X Factor UK, the 2012 edition, has found its winner. Thanks the four judges and, most importantly, to the people at home voting, last night’s edition of the show saw James Arthur leave home as the winner.

Shortly after the results were announced, runner-up Jahmene Douglas said he couldn’t have been happier about the winner, as he and James had become friends while on the competition.

James was his “idol,” Jahmene said.

The “idol,” on the other hand, was somewhat speechless. “Thank you, thank you so much. Have I really won? Wow. I don't know what to say,” were his first words.

After the announcement, performed his winner’s song, a cover of Shontelle’s “Impossible.” You can see the video of his performance above.

“Impossible” will be released as a single, and all proceeds will go to the charity Together for Short Lives.
