It's been one amazing ride for this 17-year-old hopeful but it has now come to an end. Cher Lloyd has been booted from X Factor last night, on what was the first part of this weekend's final round.

The aspiring singer, who won over the hearts of the judges with her voice, her attitude and her rapping skills, received the smallest number of votes from the public and had to leave the competition.

Cher had two performances, a single one and a duet with will.i.am, which were very well received y the judges. Nevertheless, that did not help her secure a spot in tonight's final, as the Daily Mail also points out.

“Last night, Cher Lloyd saw her X Factor dream come to an end as she was sent packing in the first part of the weekend's final showdown,” the Mail writes.

“The 17-year-old hopeful from Malvern, Worcestershire, was the bookies' favourite to face the chop tonight and, predictably, received the least number of viewer votes, sealing her fate,” the tab further writes.

Cher first sang a mash-up of The Belle Stars Clapping Song and Missy Elliot's Get Ur Freak On, before the main event of the night: the duet with Black Eyed Peas' will.i.am.

Cher kicked off the performance with the band's hit song Where Is the Love, before will.i.am took to the stage for a duet on the Peas' more recent I Gotta Feeling.

As well received as both renditions were, they weren't enough to keep Cher in the competition, since it's now in the stage where only the public vote decides who stays, who goes and, ultimately, who wins.

The finalists are now down to three: Rebecca Ferguson, Matt Cardle and boyband One Direction, with odds tipping Rebecca or Matt as favorites to win the big prize.

Still, that's not to say Cher has left the show as a loser – quite on the contrary, as we also informed you just days ago, when Simon Cowell confirmed for the British media that, no matter the results in the finals, she would still be a winner – even if not the winner.

In other words, Cowell confirmed that Cher had already secured a £2 million record deal for her debut album, which meant her start in the music world was guaranteed.

Below is Cher Lloyd's duet with will.i.am. Enjoy.
