John McAfee might be back in the United States where he’s safe from the Belize authorities who were allegedly out to get him. However, his past has come back to haunt him.

According to the Sky Valley Chronicle, the family of Gregory Faull, McAfee’s Belize neighbor who was found murdered in his house back in November 2012, has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the antivirus software pioneer.

The plaintiff accuses McAfee of killing Faull or hiring someone to kill him after they had a dispute over the eccentric millionaire’s dogs. Faull’s daughter wants a jury trial and $75,000 (€56,000) in damages.

McAfee has always maintained his innocence. After Faull’s death, he fled because he was afraid that authorities would try to pin the murder on him. Police in Belize haven’t filed any charges against McAfee, they simply named him a person of interest.
