It appears that Wortmann AG isn't the kind of company that would put off launching a new product just because most consumers are more or less preoccupied with the MWC 2011 expo, so it delivered its newest Terra series monitor.

Right now, a fair chunk of the consumer base is understandably focused on just what will be shown next at the Mobile World Congress 2011 trade show in Barcelona.

Verily, we even have two colleagues there on the site, who got their hands on the likes of ASUS' Slider tablet, Acer's Iconia Tab A500, Samsung's Galaxy tab 10.1 and HP's Touchpad, among various others.

Still, not all news these days was about this or that new tablet, as other companies, such as EKL for instance, detailed other sorts of devices besides tablets and smartphones.

Coming to add to the variety of hardware is Wortmann AG, whose portfolio of monitors just increased by one.

The company supplied the market with the Terra LED 2450W, a 24-inch display with a native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (Full HD in other words).

As its name implies, it utilizes LED backlighting, meaning that it is more energy efficient that a large chunk of all LCDs currently on sale.

That said, the rest of its specifications aren't to be frowned upon either, especially the DCR (dynamic contrast ratio) of 15,000,000:1.

Other performance details include a brightness of 250 cd/m2, a response time of 5ms, built-in speakers and a pair of video inputs (D-SUB and DVI), HDCP support and a power draw in standby mode of 1W.

All the above are packed inside a frame with piano black finish and should already be selling, for the price of 209 Euro and backed by a three-year warranty.

Those that want more information on the Wortmann AG Terra LED 2450W need only drop by the official product page, located here.
