The next big thing in Philippine music, as far as male singers are concerned, is touted either as the next Gary V. or Martin Nievera. Erik Santos, winner of the much-coveted and most prestigious singing contest in the country, being tagged "the rising star" after the success of Star in a Million, has proven that he is indeed that and more.
Since 2003's "Star in a Million" contest won by Santos, the artist managed to create three albums promoted in various concerts in Philippines and Europe, US, Australia.
In an interview for Philstar, Erik was asked what his worst issue is. The answer came as: "That I am gay and that I have two love children."
The rumor which scandalized Erik's fans, mostly the girls, was spread by an unknown person coming in "blind items" as Santos calls it - "I don't know who's spreading it. I wonder up to now where the rumor that I have two love children came from." Seems that Erik has a handsome male lover from his native country, and both were seen together, holding hands while shopping, according to the alleged eyewitness.
Asked about the men he admires, Santos named Brad Pitt, Sylvester Stallone and Jericho Rosales. Regarding the girls, the Philippine's Prince disclosed how he used to conquer them: "I steal glances at her. I blush! And my eyes turn even more dreamy; I become more teary-eyed."
Erik Santos just had another daring performing on 25th March backed up by local stars Kyla the R&B Princess, Frenchie the Big Champion, comedy musical act K and the Boxers, Kim the new singing sensation. The show was memorable as the delighted local press claimed on Philippines's headlines.
