Following last year's successful launch of the original Worms for iOS game, Team17 has just announced that Worm 2: Armageddon for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch is now available in the App Store. The sequel to Worms comes with new features, but keeps the same gameplay style, which is a blend of strategy and arcade.
Gamers will now be able to play against 3 other friends in adrenaline-filled multi-player sessions or try the challenging solo campaign where the ultimate goal is to become the meanest mercenary worm.
“We’re delighted with the incredible success of the original Worms App on iPhone and iPad,” said John Dennis, head of design at Team17.
“With the Worms 2: Armageddon App we’re looking to build on that success with a game that adds a raft of great new features and content for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch users,” added Dennis.
Worms 2: Armageddon brings new content in the form of weapons, including the Sentry Gun, Electromagnet, Poison Strike and Earthquake, as well as new game-types, custom game-styles and 30 campaign levels.
As players advance in the game, they
will be able to spend the gold earned during play time to buy upgrades such as hats, forts, gravestones, as well as a wide range of weapons that can also be used in the improved multiplayer mode.
Multiplayer over Wi-Fi is also possible in case you don't want to use a Bluetooth connection. The game features full Plus+ integration, providing in-game Awards, Friends listings and Leader-boards.
Players will be able to post high scores and achievements to
Twitter and Facebook to show their friends how they performed.
The game is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad devices running iOS 3.1.3 or later and requires 184 MB storage space.
The Worms 2: Armageddon can be downloaded for $4.99 from the AppStore.
