14 DAY TRIAL // Tinkerbell Hilton, the world’s most famous Chihuahua, popular reality star and Paris Hilton’s most faithful companion, has died. News of her passing is confirmed by Paris herself, in a heartbreaking post on social media.
Tinkerbell first shot to fame on the reality show The Simple Life, also starring Paris and former BFF Nicole Ritchie. She was 14 and died of old age, but she is seriously missed already, judging by the outpouring of love and grief on social media.
Paris Hilton is in mourning
All jokes aside, Tinkerbell was very famous. It might sound silly for a Chihuahua to attain celebrity status, but this is what she managed to do. She was the first pet to be carried around in nothing but designer bags, and she is believed to have triggered the fad of pets-as-accessories that is still sweeping the world.
Tinks had a collection of jewelry and clothes that many humans could only dream of being able to purchase after a lifetime of hard work, and she made frequent public appearances.
Whether she accompanied Paris on a night out or she attended fashion shows (front row, as the photo attached to this article can confirm), she was always the life of the party. She was as A-list as her human friend Paris.
Speaking of Paris, she says Tinks died of old age; she is naturally heartbroken over it, and is dedicating her Instagram page to her fallen “angel” as a tribute.
A happy life is being remembered
Tinkerbell wasn’t just a socialite / celebrity, even though she had the best master that money could buy. She also wrote a book, “Tinkerbell Hilton Diaries: My Life Tailing Paris Hilton,” got her own editorials in magazines and, in 2004, became the victim of dognapping.
When Tinks disappeared, Paris offered a $5,000 (€4,649) reward to be reunited with her, with posters advertising that “she is like a child to me.” One week later, the pooch was back with her human friend, and all was well with the world again.
As you can see from the Instagram posts below, Paris is seriously upset over the loss, which - again, all jokes aside - all current and former pet owners can understand and relate to.
She’s finding comfort in the kind words of love and support from the fans, who seem to have loved the pooch as much as they do Paris. They too are quite upset about Tinkerbell’s death.
In fact, under the hashtag #RIPTinkerbell on Twitter, you can find some of the most heartbreaking messages from the fans, mixed in there with mocking tweets from those who can’t understand how a Chihuahua could become this famous in the first place.
