The world’s biggest hot dog was cooked and served at the Miami-Dade County Fair and Exposition on Friday. It was created by food fan Brett Enright who is determined to enter the Guinness book of records for the second time.

Enright, who runs Juicy’s Outlaw Grill, already holds the Guinness record for the largest commercially available hamburger, but he now wants to obtain the title for the world's biggest hot dog.

Weighing a whopping 125lb (nearly 57 kg), the huge hot dog was cooked for three hours on a 100-foot (30-meter) mobile grill, which was transported to the fair on a huge tractor trailer.

The large frankfurter that was used to make the giant hot dog tipped the scale at 51 pounds (23 kg), and was placed in a behemoth bun and covered with pounds of ketchup, mustard, relish and onions.

The hot dog’s final weight was recorded and observed by several witnesses and was then sent to Guinness officials to be verified, according to Metro.

“There’s a guy in Chicago who had the previous hot dog record. I’m hoping he comes back and beats this so we can turn around and make an even bigger hot dog,” Brett Enright said.

Later on, the giant meal was cut into individual servings and sold to fair-goers for $1 (60p) a plate. The money will be donated to Miami Rescue Mission which provides approximately 950,000 meals a year.
