Pong is the granddaddy of all modern video games and its potential to stay modern is clear from the attached video, which shows the game being played on a 29-story-high office building.

The effort to make the idea a reality was driven by Dr. Frank Lee, a computer science professor at Drexel and the co-founder of its game design program.

He told ArsTechnica about the idea: “I was driving down at night, and saw the sparkling lights at the Cira Centre. The LED lights at the Cira Centre are built-in as part of the structure of the building.”

The lights led him to Tetris and then to Pong and afterwards, he contacted owners and the authorities in order to make the idea a reality.

Playing Pong on buildings seems to be a recent trend as a similar event took place last year to celebrate 40 years since the game was first launched.
